Wonkwang Electric Power (CEO Jeon Yeon-soo), which is growing as a company that specializes in solar power solutions, is going to enter the solar energy market in Vietnam on full-scale.
Vietnam, which has an annual economic growth rate of 6 percent, plans to triple its power generation facilities to the current level by 2030. In particular, the registered solar energy sector will be expanded to 21 percent by 2030.

Wonkwang Electric Power Co. participated in ‘2019 Vietnam-Korea Smart Power Energy Exhibition’ held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on the 17th (U.S. time) and signed a business agreement with Vietnam Bamboo Capital Group for mutual cooperation in solar power generation.

Through the agreement, the two companies will push for mutual cooperation in renewable energy projects in Vietnam ▲ and ▲ technical cooperation in renewable energy sector ▲PV power generation, MG (Microgrid) and ESS (Energy Storage System) industries.

In the future, the two companies will focus on developing materials related to solar power generation, while strengthening their business activities in the solar power, energy storage devices and renewable energy markets.
In particular, it decided to discuss ways to cooperate with Bamboo Capital to build a 4MW solar power plant in Vietnam and to make related projects visible.
Bamboo Capital is said to be successfully carrying out large-scale investments in Vietnam’s renewable energy projects, including a 140 MW solar power plant in Long An Province, and is in charge of playing the role of an investment bank in Ok status and other areas.
In addition, Wonkwang Electric Power Co. introduced a project called "Development and Demonstration of Photovoltaic Systems for Farming and Military Service," which can combine farming with solar power at this exhibition.
Wonkwang Electric Power Co. is pushing for a variety of solar power projects, including the construction of the world-culture energy solar power plant in Haenam County in 2005. Some solar power plants are also focusing their capabilities on R&D for the development of related industries, such as those directly owned by the company

In 2014, it built the first energy-independent island in Korea by building a microgrid (small-scale self-sufficient power network) on Samma Island, Haenam. Last year, the company completed the ESS-linked solar power plant at the Maldives Mallahini Resort and is proving it.
